Award Motivation

The award is made to Dr Carassale for his work on the stochastic non-linear response of structures using advanced methods that describe non-Gaussian processes, and for the application of these principles to cables systems and other complex flows. In addition he has worked on the double modal transformation of the use of proper orthogonal decomposition and the simulation of wind fields over complex terrain. He has published widely in international journals and continues to be an active member of staff at the University of Genoa, and is involved in the development of a new wind engineering experimental laboratory.
