The International Association for Wind Engineering (IAWE) promotes international co-operation among scientists, engineers and other professionals for advancement of knowledge in the broad field of wind engineering.

On cyclone damage in Myanmar - From IAWE President

A tragic disaster due to Cyclone “Nargis” happened in Myanmar. The number of fatalities and missing persons is still increasing and has been estimated at more than 60,000, as of May 12, 2008. This disaster is also a great shock to our wind engineering community. We, IAWE members, do express our deepest regret over the deaths and offer our sincere condolences to the people of Myanmar.

We will do our best to reduce such devastating hazards around the world. This is the responsibility of the IAWE. We would appreciate your keen collaboration.
